The Covid-19 vaccines proved to be an effective weapon in the global fight against the virus. The Indian Government has authorised three vaccines for administration - Covishield, Covaxin and the Russian-developed Sputnik V.
To get the vaccine, individuals had to register on the Co-WIN portal, either through the website or through the Arogya Setu app. Similarly, vaccinated individuals can download the certificate on Co-WIN. Want to know how to download the Co-WIN certificate? Read on.
Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate
Every vaccinated individual, irrespective of their first dose, second dose or booster dose, is issued a certificate of vaccination. It shows your vaccination status and can be submitted as proof of vaccination wherever needed. You can download the certificate on Co-WIN, and it will contain details about the beneficiary and the vaccination. For instance, if Mr Avinash Sharma, aged 36, took his first dose of Covishield on 10th June 2021 and second dose on 10th September 2021, then he can do the Covishield certificate download on Co-WIN, and the document will contain:
- Name: Mr Avinash Sharma
- Age: 36
- Gender: Male
- ID Proof submitted: Aadhaar Card (with Aadhar number)
- Unique Health ID (UHID): XXXXXXX
- Beneficiary Reference ID: XXXXXX
- Vaccine Name: Covishield
- Date of 1st Dose: 10th June 2021 (Batch number of the vaccine)
- Date of 2nd Dose: 10th September 2021 (Batch number of the vaccine)

You can very easily download the Co-WIN certificate either through the Co-WIN website or through the Arogya Setu with the help of the mobile number provided at the time of registration. Below are the steps for both.

Co-WIN vaccine certificate download with your mobile number on the website
Visit the official Co-WIN website. Input the number used during registration for logging in.
Input the OTP that you receive on the registered mobile number.
You will see a list of all the people that were registered with the given mobile number. Up to 4 people can be registered with the same mobile number.
Find your profile and click the ‘Certificate’ tab.
Click on the Download button to download your Co-WIn certificate.
Co-WIN certificate download by mobile number on the Arogya Setu App
Here are the steps for co-win certificate download by mobile number:
Download the official Arogya Setu app from the Apple Store or the Google Playstore. Open the app.
Log in with the mobile number used during the initial registration and for booking the vaccination slots.
Input the OTP received.
Now, your vaccine status is available on the app's home tab. Simply click on the Download Certificate Button to download your Co-WIN certificate.
If your status is not visible on the home tab, click on the Vaccination/Co-WIN tab at the top of the app.
Re-enter the registered mobile number and the OTP.
Click on Download Certificate Co-WIN.
How to complete the Covishield certificate download by mobile number?
You can download the Co-WIN certificate of all vaccines - Covishield, Covaxin or Sputnik V - via the Co-WIN website or the Arogya Setu app using your mobile number. Simply visit the website or log into the Arogya Setu App, input the registered mobile number, provide the OTP received, click on the Download Certificate button and get your vaccination certificate.
How can you download the Co-WIN certificate through the Arogya Setu app on if you have registered with someone else’s number?
The Arogya Setu app now allows you to link the final certificate with your Arogya Setu app and download it anytime without requiring inputting the original registration mobile number.
Simply log into your Arogya Setu App with your mobile number. On the Home tab, it will provide a button to link your vaccine certificate. Click on it and input the number registered during vaccination. They will receive an OTP. Input that.
Provide your ID proof number, which was used during the vaccination.
Your vaccine certificate will be fetched and linked to your Arogya Setu app. Now, you can download it whenever needed by simply logging onto your Arogya Setu.
How to Register on Co-WIN for a Booster Dose?
With most people already fully vaccinated, the Government of India started the Precaution Dose or the Booster Dose from 10th April 2022.
All vaccinated individuals who have completed 9 months since their second dose of vaccine can register for the booster dose.
To register for the Covid booster dose on the Co-WIN portal:
- Then, on the Co-WIN website or the Vaccination Tab of your Arogya Setu app, input the mobile number used for registration and previous vaccine doses.
- Input the OTP received. Click on ‘Proceed to Verify’.
- Under your name, the booster dose appointment schedule tab will be available.
- Click on Schedule Now.
- Find the nearest Vaccination Centre based on your location/pin code.
- Schedule the appointment on the available date and time as per your preference.
- You will receive a text message confirming your appointment.
