Nitrogen tyre inflation has been a regular practice for many years. Even if there are some conflicting opinions regarding it, the benefits of nitrogen in tyres are clear. Essentially, nitrogen tyre inflation involves substituting air with nitrogen as a way more stable constituent that can increase overall performance.

Well, this is the reason why nitrogen is filled in the tyres of cars requiring finer adjustment, such as in race cars, aeroplanes, industrial machinery, and even spaceships. All of this leads many to assume that nitrogen is a superior choice for inflating tyres than air, but is this true?

Inflating nitrogen in car tyres keeps the tyre comparatively cool, which reduces the risk of a tyre explosion. This is extremely beneficial for people riding old bikes with old tyres. Otherwise, exploding tyres can cause serious accidents that can be detrimental to you, your family, and even third parties.

Furthermore, accidents can financially strain and disturb you and the people involved in the disaster. This is where risk covers, such as four-wheeler insurance, are designed to safeguard us from unanticipated occurrences and obligations. Also, the Indian Government has made it compulsory to have at least a third-party car insurance for every car owner in India before they take their four-wheeler out for a spin.

At Tata AIG, you may compare car insurance plans and purchase the one that best suits your needs and budget. Be it comprehensive, third-party, or standalone own damage policy, we have it all under our ambit. So, why bother? Reach out to us as soon as possible after you purchase your dream four-wheeler.

Anyway, now coming to the main topic of the blog regarding the disadvantages and advantages of nitrogen in tyres. Continue reading to learn more.

Process for Passport Tracking Online

An online passport status check is perhaps the most convenient method to track the status of your passport application. Here is a step-by-step guide for online passport status check:

  • Step 1: Visit the official website of Passport Seva and click on the tab that reads “Track Application Status”.
  • Step 2: You will then be redirected from the home page to the relevant page to track passport application status.
  • Step 3: On this page, you will be expected to select your application type, enter your birth date and the 15-digit file number. Verify the details that you have added before clicking on the “Track Status” tab.

Once you follow the aforementioned steps, the subsequent page will automatically display your passport application status.

Process for Passport Tracking Offline

If the online passport status check does not suit you, you can opt for the offline route to track your passport status. There are essentially three ways in which you can check passport application offline. Each of these methods is elaborated on below:

  • SMS: The application status of your passport can be checked with the updates you receive on your registered mobile number. Simply send “STATUS FILE NUMBER” from your phone to the number: 9704100100. It is important to note that this is a paid SMS service that an individual can opt for at the time of their application.

  • National Call Centre: You can simply reach out to the National Call Centre on their toll-free number: 18002581800. The stipulated timings to connect with a Citizen Service Executive is from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. However, if you want to check the status of your application before or after these hours, you can access the relevant information through their Automated Interactive Voice Response. Process for Passport Tracking Using the Passport Seva App

In addition to the online and offline methods to track passport application status, applicants can also get their information through the mPassport Seva app. The mPassport Seva app is a mobile application that is accessible to both iOS as well as Android devices. Once the applicant registers themselves on the app, the application status can be tracked with real-time updates.

Here is how you can check your passport status using the mPassport Seva app:

  • Step 1: Download the mPassport Seva app from the Play Store if you have an Android device or the App Store if you have an iOS device.
  • Step 2: Register yourself on the app with your name, birth date, and email address.
  • Step 3: Click on “Status Tracker” and enter your date of birth and the 15-digit file number to know your passport application status.

Process for Tracking Passport Dispatch and Delivery Status

Knowing the dispatch and delivery status of your application is just as important as checking the application status. Usually, the Indian Speed Post dispatches the passport of the applicant at their current address (as it is mentioned in the passport application form). In this scenario, the delivery status can be tracked from Speed Post’s tracking utility.

Typically, there is a difference in the delivery status online and the real-time delivery status. Therefore, it is recommended to get in touch with your nearest Speed Post Centre because if your address cannot be located by the delivery personnel, your passport is returned to the sender. Under this circumstance, the applicant can get further details by contacting their Regional Passport Office.

Here is how you can check the delivery status of your passport:

  • Step 1: Visit the official website of Passport Seva and get your 13-digit tracking number from the “tracking application status” tab.
  • Step 2: Once you have your tracking number handy, visit the official website of India Post.
  • Step 3: Locate the “Track Consignment” tab and enter your 13-digit number in the “Consignment Number” tab and then click on “Search”.

After following the aforementioned steps, if you are unable to see your delivery tracking data, then it means that your passport has not yet been dispatched.

Alternatively, the delivery status of your application can also be tracked through the SMS service of India Post. This can be done by sending your 13-digit tracking number in the format: POST TRACK <add your 13-digit tracking number> and send it to 166 or 51969. If you are pressed for time, you can even collect your passport from your Regional Passport Office by filling out the application form detailing the reason for your urgency. Your application for early collection of your passport can either be accepted or rejected based on your reason.
