What's Covered In Tata AIG Travel Insurance
Trip delay With Tata AIG’s Domestic travel guard, you will be reimbursed reasonable accommodation charges for any trip delay (*for more than 5 hours) due to a covered hazard. However, this is only valid if such a delay happens anywhere apart from your city of residence.
Missed departure: If you happen to miss your flight/train, we will pay the benefits up to the amount stated in the policy document for the cost of your actual ticket.
Loss of tickets: If you have lost your ticket and are unable to continue your travel be it by (Common Carrier - Air/Rail), we will pay the benefits up to the amount stated in the policy document.
Personal liability cover: Covers damages for claims legally filed on insured against property damage and medical expenses to others as a result of bodily injury caused by insured in an accident.
Emergency medical evacuation: In case you need to be evacuated due to a medical emergency, we covers the cost of Medical evacuation of insured to nearest hospital or back to home town
Accidental medical expenses benefit: In case of an accident during your trip, you can claim reimbursement subject to the deductibles and up to a maximum amount per disease/injury of the sum insured, as mentioned in the policy schedule or the schedule of benefits.
Accidental death or dismemberment benefit: Coverage is also provided for accidents resulting in injury or even death. If the policyholder gets injured during an insured trip, which results in disablement we will pay a percentage of the principal sum insured as mentioned in the policy document.
Repatriation of remains: The insured is covered for the cost of transportation of the body, up to the amount stated in the policy document, from the place of death to the residence. (within india).
Family Transport: If you have been hospitalised while travelling across India, for more days than the deductible shown in the policy document, following a covered hospitalisation during an insured journey, we will We will pay up to the amounts as mentioned in the schedule & policy wordings
Replacement of Staff (Business Trip Only) In case of an accident during a business trip, where the insured person gets injured, TATA AIG Provides coverage for cost of Travel and Accommodation expenses for Sending out / Returning the replacement Or Returning / sending out the Original Insured Person following recovery from disability
In-hospital indemnity: If you are hospitalized due to an injury or accident during your trip, we provide coverage for “per day hospitalization” subject to any applicable deductible as shown in the policy document.

What's Not Covered

Participation in adventure sports: Coverage does not extend to injuries arising out of participation in adventure sports activities such as surfing, hunting, canoeing, horse riding, bungee jumping, etc.
National security threat: Any material loss arising out of hostilities like civil war, invasion, revolution, rebellion, mutiny, or an act of the foreign enemy will not be covered by travel insurance under Tata AIG.
Non-medical expenses: Tata AIG Travel Insurance plans shall not cover any non-medical expenses while travelling.
Journey against doctor's advice: Losses arising out of journey undertaken against the advice of one’s doctor will not qualify for reimbursement.
Issues arising due to pregnancy: This policy will not cover any loss arising due to pregnancy or from childbirth.
Elective or cosmetic surgery: Hospitalisation for any elective or cosmetic surgery (such as tonsillectomy) will not be covered.
Pre-existing conditions: Any complication arising due to a pre-existing condition, such as diabetes, hypertension, etc., will not be covered.
Congenital abnormalities: Any complications arising due to congenital anomalies (birth defects) will not be covered.
Travelling for treatment: Insurance plans under the Tata AIG banner do not extend coverage towards individuals who travel for the treatment of a disease.
Pre-existing disorders: Individuals who are diagnosed with depression, anxiety, stress, STDs, suicidal tendencies, or mental/nervous disorders will not be eligible for coverage.
Substance abuse: Problems arising from the intake of alcohol, drugs, or any other intoxicants are not covered by travel insurance.

The ‘free-look’ period in travel insurance implies that the buyer gets a specified number of days to review the terms and conditions of the plan. Tata AIG Travel Insurance plans come with a free-look period of 15 days for the multi-trip policy. However, the single-trip policy does not come with a free-look period.
