As per data from MHA's Bureau of Immigration (BoI), the number of Indians travelling abroad increased by 137% in 2022, a report by Times of India (TOI) said. Although this number is still below the pre-COVID levels, the jump is tremendous. Unlike domestic travel, overseas travel requires a passport as a mandatory document. The Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs handles the passport application and other related processes.
