If you are headed to the gorgeous land of Blue Mosque, Turkish Baths and Antalya Museum, then a pre-approved visa is a must. Since Turkey does not offer visa-on-arrival to Indians, you must have an electronic visa or a sticker visa to visit the country. Whether you are travelling for tourism, work or education, having a visa is mandatory.
Turkey visa documents required include a valid passport, photograph, proof of hotel reservation, insurance coverage and more. Even if you travel to a visa-free country, you must possess basic documents to prove your identity and nationality in a foreign country.
So, before you apply for a Turkish visa, read this article to learn about the Turkey visa documents checklist, the Turkey visa process, the types of visas and much more.
Turkey Visa from India – Is it Necessary?
As mentioned above, Turkey does not offer Indians visa-free entry. Thus, Indian passport holders must obtain a pre-visa from India before their departure. One may carry the visa in electronic form or printed e-visa.
The first step of the visa process for Turkey is to apply for the visa through the online application mode and submit the documents as necessary, including a Turkey tourist visa application form, valid passport and travel insurance among a few.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey introduced an online visa application process to eliminate the hassle of waiting in long queues and doing tons of paperwork for a visa. Indians can apply for different types of visas depending on the purpose of the visit, such as tourist visa, business visa, official visa, student visa, work visa, etc.
The maximum duration of Turkish visas is 90 days, which can be extended by applying for a ‘short-term residence permit’.

If you wish to have a smooth visa application process, you must ensure that you fulfil all the Turkey visa requirements for Indians. Here is a list of documents that you must submit for a successful visa application:**
-Valid Passport: For a Turkish visa, you must hold a valid passport. Special attention must be paid to the validity of the passport, as the Turkish visa requires it to be valid for 60 more days in addition to the duration of the stay.
