The motorcycle universe just keeps getting better. And Indians with an affinity for bikes always want to be up to date when it comes to the new edition of this diverse and varied cosmos. When it comes to purchasing a bike, it goes without saying that many considerations are made before making the final leap.
Practicality, efficiency, and affordability are the three prime components that every Indian wants to have in their bikes. This is why the Indian two-wheeler industry differs from the two-wheeler industry of almost every other nation.
To put it simply, while the majority of two-wheeler buyers outside of India look for performance, safety features, brand value, and style when buying a motorcycle, Indian buyers consider price, style, and the mileage offered.
There are numerous reasons for such trend difference, one of the major reasons is the Indian road traffic, coupled with the poor condition of Indian roads and the rising fuel costs, which is comparatively on the higher side than most nations.
These factors make high-end motorcycles unsuitable, and this is why the best-selling motorcycles in India are always focused on 100cc to 200cc. And the 180cc bikes segment in India ticks all of these boxes in just the right order.
If one is looking for 180cc bikes in India, this blog will be helpful since this will give them every nitty-gritty detail to help them make decisions easier.
The Best 180cc Bikes Available in the Indian Market
Here is the list of the best bike in the 180cc segment that you could consider buying:
TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS
Starting the list of the most sought-after 180cc bikes in India is none other than the TVS Apache RTR180, the older brother of the RTR160, inheriting the design bases from the latter. Rivaling the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 since 2012, the Apache RTR180 is the first in its segment to present dual-channel ABS. Considering a high-performance entry-level bike like the Apache 180, this upgrade drew mostly positive feedback.
The RTR 180 is powered by a single-cylinder air-cooled 177cc engine mated to a five-speed gearbox. The only entry from TVS in this list, Apache RTR 180 ABS, is highly potent with top-notch power output, coming with a top speed of 125 km/hour. In addition, it can go from 0 to 100 in under 13 seconds, making it one of the people's favorite bikes in this particular segment.
Bajaj Pulsar 180
Do people know Bajaj completely redefined the 180cc bike genre with their numerous contributions? The Bajaj Pulsar 180 is one of the most recognizable motorcycles on the Indian roads as its siblings have undergone only minor changes.
It draws power from a BS6 compliant 178cc engine with an unladen weight of 151kg and a 15-liter fuel tank. The Pulsar 180 is equipped with a five-speed manual gearbox and dual discs, giving the Pulsar 180 ABS an edge. It's doing well in the Indian bike market based on robust features and sheer brand value.
Bajaj Avenger Street 180
Bajaj's Avenger series bike was first launched in 2005 and has since become one of the most unique-styled 180cc bikes in the Indian market. Nevertheless, the new Bajaj Avenger Street 180 is equipped with a 180cc engine, while the previous edition had a 150cc engine. This bike appears to have the same engine as the iconic Pulsar 180 model, but when it comes to horsepower and torque, the Avenger Street 180 delivers comparatively less than the Pulsar 180.
The power produced by this engine is 15.3cc, and the DTS-i ignition system is helpful for bikers. Aside from that, this bike has five gears. Combined, the system delivers the capability of 48 km/hour and can reach the top speed of 110 km/hour.
Honda Hornet 2.0
From the manufacturing giant that gave people the CBR 190R, the Honda Hornet 2.0 is a naked streetfighter. It boasts a robust engine capacity of 184cc and a manual five-speed gearbox and a 12-liter petrol tank. Extremely powerful (16.2Nm/17.03 bhp) and eye-appealing, the Honda Hornet 2.0 is likely to top the list in the 180cc bike segment.
Since replacing the CBR 160, the Hornet comes with features such as a full-digital LCD instrument cluster, LED front/rear lights, hazard switch. Dual-disc brakes and single-channel ABS continue to increase their popularity among the younger generation. The bike features an upside-down fork upfront, delivering a compelling story of premium ride quality on every side.
Bajaj Pulsar 180F
The Bajaj Pulsar 180 F is equipped with a 180cc engine capable of delivering a max power output of 17hp, and the engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox. According to the manufacturer, Pulsar 180 F has a fuel efficiency of 675 kilometers, comparatively better than the other bikes in this segment. The 'F' stands for 'Fairing', so the difference between the regular 180 variants and this variant is the fairings. Besides this, the bike offers a mileage of 45 km/liter and a max speed of 122 km/liter.
The fairings also help reduce air drag, and the bike's rear suspension is also adjustable. There's only a standard variant for this motorcycle equipped with disc brakes.
