TATA AIG crosses 25,000 SME policies in Madhya Pradesh

TATA AIG crossed 25,000 SME policies in Madhya Pradesh in FY26, with Bhopal emerging as the largest contributor in the state. The company is also strengthening its presence across other key industrial and commercial centres in Madhya Pradesh, including Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Ujjain, Dhar and Singrauli. Madhya Pradesh has a diverse MSME ecosystem spanning manufacturing, engineering, agriculture-linked businesses, retail, technology and several other sectors. As these businesses expand, their exposure to operational, employee, property and other business risks also continues to evolve. The Bhopal roundtable provided an opportunity to discuss these changing requirements and the role insurance can play in helping MSMEs manage risks while focusing on sustainable growth.

Growing MSME presence across India

TATA AIG's MSME business has also continued to grow at the national level. In FY26, the company's MSME business crossed ₹1,450 crore in Gross Written Premium, with more than 7.5 lakh MSME policies issued across India. In addition, more than 20 lakh lives have been covered through Workers' Compensation and Group Health Insurance as part of TATA AIG's commercial lines business. These numbers reflect the increasing importance of risk protection for India's MSME sector as businesses navigate a rapidly changing operating environment.

Building resilience among India's MSMEs

MSMEs operate across a wide range of industries and face risks that can vary significantly depending on their business model, location, workforce and operations. As businesses grow, their insurance requirements can also become more complex. Conversations such as the Bhopal MSME Media Roundtable are aimed at creating greater awareness around emerging risks and helping businesses better understand the role of insurance as part of their overall risk-management approach. Through its MSME portfolio, TATA AIG continues to focus on supporting businesses across different stages of growth and across industrial centres around the country.
