Maruti Kizashi Car Insurance

Maruti discontinued the Kizashi in India in 2014, yet a loyal owner base keeps it running. Most buyers today are enthusiasts and second owners who want a 2393 cc, 2.4-litre petrol sedan with premium build quality at a used-car price.

The Kizashi arrived as an imported, completely built unit, so spare parts are scarce, and repair bills run high. A Maruti Kizashi insurance policy helps protect against unexpected expenses from accidents, theft, natural calamities and third-party liabilities. It can support financial protection while keeping repair costs manageable.

TATA AIG offers Maruti Kizashi insurance solutions with cashless repair facilities and a wide garage network to support your Kizashi ownership.

How Much Does Maruti Kizashi Insurance Cost?

The Kizashi insurance price depends on factors such as the car's age, IDV, location and selected coverage. Since the Kizashi is discontinued, TATA AIG can help you explore suitable car insurance online based on your vehicle and coverage needs.

How to Buy & Renew Maruti Kizashi Car Insurance Online

How to Buy

  • Step 1: Go to the top of this page or download the TATA AIG mobile app.

  • Step 4: Choose the best car insurance and any available add-ons.

  • Step 5: Complete the payment online and receive your policy document.

Important Tip!

Most Kizashi buyers purchase from a private seller. Transfer the existing insurance for Maruti Kizashi into your name within 14 days of purchase, or buy a fresh policy from TATA AIG.

How to Renew

  • Step 1: Go to the Kizashi insurance renewal option on top of this page or use our mobile app.

  • Step 2: Enter your car registration number or your existing policy number.

  • Step 3: Review your Kizashi car insurance premium for your plan.

  • Step 4: Add new add-ons and check the car insurance price..

  • Step 5: Pay online and download the renewed policy for your records.

Please Note:

TATA AIG allows a 90-day grace period after expiry to retain your No Claim Bonus. Discontinued models like the Kizashi are often second or third vehicles, so the cover lapses easily. A lapsed policy may call for a vehicle inspection before renewal.

Why Insure Your Maruti Kizashi?

Third-Party Insurance Is a Legal Requirement

The Motor Vehicles Act makes third-party cover compulsory for every car on Indian roads, including discontinued models. Driving your Kizashi without a valid insurance policy invites a fine and leaves you personally liable for injury or property damage caused to others. This cover helps pay for eligible third-party injury, death or property damage liabilities.

Imported Spares Make Repair Bills Unpredictable

The Kizashi reached India as a completely built unit, so panels, lights and mechanical parts are scarce and expensive. A minor bumper repair on a mass-market sedan can cost several times more on a discontinued model. Kizashi comprehensive car insurance helps cover eligible damages to your vehicle.

Authorised Maruti Service Centres Within Our Network

Kizashi owners rely on Maruti workshops for diagnostics on the 2.4-litre J24B engine and CVT unit. TATA AIG cashless garage network includes authorised Maruti service centres, so you get specialist servicing and support without paying upfront or waiting for reimbursement.

Protection Against Fire, Natural and Man-Made Events

Many Kizashi cars now serve as weekend or second vehicles, parked for long stretches. Standing water during monsoon, falling trees, fire and riot damage all fall outside a third-party policy. Comprehensive Maruti Kizashi insurance can help protect against eligible damage caused by these events. It benefits owners who park outdoors, travel during monsoons or use their sedan for regular family journeys.

Safeguard Your Kizashi Against Theft and Total Loss

The Maruti Kizashi is a discontinued premium sedan, so protecting it matters for existing owners. Surviving Kizashi units are few, and you can't replace a stolen or written-off car from a showroom. A car insurance policy pays the IDV in car insurance, which matters most when the model is no longer produced and market pricing is thin.

Drive with Greater Confidence on Every Journey

Kizashi owners may use their cars for city commutes, family outings and long-distance travel. Unexpected accidents, theft and natural disasters can affect any of these journeys. Maruti Kizashi car insurance provides financial protection against covered risks, helping you enjoy your sedan with greater confidence and fewer unexpected expenses.

Which Maruti Kizashi Car Insurance Policy Do I Get?

The Maruti Kizashi is a discontinued premium sedan, but existing owners still need suitable insurance protection. Your car's age, insured value, usage and location can help determine the right policy. Comprehensive insurance for Maruti Kizashi suits owners seeking broader protection, while third-party insurance meets mandatory legal requirements.

Car Insurance Policy Types We Offer

Kizashi Comprehensive Car Insurance - Best Overall Fit

Covers damage to your Kizashi alongside the mandatory third-party liability. This remains the practical choice for a discontinued Completely Built Unit (CBU), where a single imported panel can cost more than a year of premium.

Key Highlights

  • Bundled cover with tenure options of one, two or three years

  • No salvage deduction on total loss settlements

  • Cashless repairs across our garage network

Buy Comprehensive Car Insurance

Third-Party Car Insurance - Best for Low-Value Kizashi

Meets the legal minimum under the Motor Vehicles Act and pays for injury or property damage caused to others. It offers no compensation for damages towards your own car.

Key Highlights

  • Lowest premium available, fixed by IRDAI

  • Cover for third-party injury or death

  • Suited to a Kizashi kept off the road or held for spares

Maruti Kizashi Own-Damage Insurance - Useful in Specific Situations

Covers only your own vehicle. Choose this when a valid third-party policy is already running on a different expiry date.

Key Highlights

  • Freedom to insure only own damage

  • No change to your existing liability cover

  • Useful after a mid-term transfer of ownership

Which Policy Do I Buy?

The following table helps you choose a policy based on your Kizashi's age, value and usage.

Parameters  Typical Use Case  Best Policy  Why
Second-hand purchase  Buying a used Kizashi from a dealer or private seller  Comprehensive  Unknown repair history means claims arrive early.
Low IDV, sparing use  Kizashi kept as a spare or occasional car  Third-Party  Premium outweighs the claim value.
Rare, well-maintained example  Owner intends to keep the car long term  Comprehensive  Imported parts make own-damage cover essential.
Long-distance or highway use  Weekend touring and intercity runs  Comprehensive  Recovery and repair away from home run high.
Accident-prone city  Daily driving in dense urban traffic  Comprehensive  Lights and bumpers are imported and costly.
Flood-prone location  Parking in low-lying or coastal areas  Comprehensive  Water damage to the body and interior is covered.
Third-party policy already active  Mid-term ownership transfer  Standalone Own-Damage  Aligns cover without duplicating liability.

Please note: These suggestions are indicative. Your premium, IDV and add-on eligibility depend on your Kizashi's age, condition and claim history, and are confirmed at quote stage. Enter your registration number in the buying section above to see what applies to your car.

Standard Inclusions and Exclusions Under Maruti Kizashi Car Insurance

A comprehensive Maruti Kizashi insurance policy protects against several accidental, and natural and man-made risks. The following inclusions and exclusions are based on TATA AIG policy wording and applicable terms.

What is Covered?

The standard comprehensive policy covers the following events, subject to deductibles, exclusions and policy conditions.

Event  Standard comprehensive cover?  Important caveat
Accidental damage from collision  Yes  Parts settlement carries 50% depreciation on cars over ten years
Flood and inundation  Yes  Body and interior damage only. Water entering the engine needs Engine Secure
Earthquake  Yes  Limited to fire and shock damage
Storm, cyclone, hailstorm  Yes  Extends to typhoon, hurricane, tempest and frost damage
Landslide and rockslide  Yes  Recovery to the nearest repairer is capped at ₹1,500 per accident4
Fire, explosion, self-ignition, lightning  Yes  Engine damage after flooding stays outside this peril
Riot, strike, malicious damage  Yes  Police report supports the claim
Terrorist activity  Yes  Covered as a named peril. War and war-like events stay excluded
Transit damage  Yes  Applies to road, rail, inland waterway, lift and air transit.
Theft  Yes  Report to police and to us within 48 hours
Total or Constructive Total Loss (CTL)  Yes  Declared a CTL once repair cost passes 75% of IDV. No salvage deduction applies
Third-party property damage  Yes  Capped at the limit shown in your Schedule
Third-party bodily injury or death  Yes  No monetary ceiling under the Motor Vehicles Act
Owner-driver personal accident cover  Yes  Up to ₹15 lakh. Requires nominee details and a valid licence

What is Not Covered?

Exclusion  What It Means
Normal wear and tear  Ageing, rust and gradual deterioration fall outside the policy. On a car of the Kizashi's vintage, this is the most common reason a claim is reduced.5
Accessories and modifications fitted after purchase  Equipment included in the manufacturer's listed selling price is included in your IDV. Anything fitted later, including audio, lighting or an aftermarket CNG or LPG kit, requires a separate endorsement and its own declared value. The Kizashi was never offered with a factory bi-fuel option in India, so every kit on this model counts as aftermarket.6
Mechanical or electrical breakdown  A failed Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), alternator or sensor is a repair bill, not a claim. The cover applies to sudden external damage.7
Consequential loss  Damage that follows the original event rather than arising from it stays excluded. Restarting a waterlogged engine is the standard example.8
War and war-like events  Invasion, civil war, mutiny and nuclear risks are excluded across all sections.9
Loss or damage outside India  Cover applies within the geographical area shown in your policy. Travel into neighbouring countries requires a geographical extension endorsement.10

Maruti Kizashi Car Insurance Add-On Covers Worth Buying

Add-on availability depends on vehicle age. Since the Kizashi was sold here between 2011 and 2014, only a few add-on options remain open to most cars.

Best General Use Add-ons

  • Roadside Assistance: Roadside assistance add-on sends a technician for a flat tyre, dead battery or lockout, and arranges towing within 25 km. Sensible for a car with no local service backup.

  • Repair of Glass, Fibre, Plastic and Rubber Parts: It protects your No Claim Bonus when you repair these parts rather than replace them.

  • Key Replacement: The key replacement cover reimburses the cost of replacing lost or stolen keys and, after a break-in, the locks too. Kizashi keys are imported and slow to source.

For Specific Perils

  • Additional Towing Charges: It pays recovery costs above the base policy limit. However, it is useful when the nearest workshop that can handle a 2.4-litre J24B is some distance away.

  • Emergency Transport and Hotel Expenses: It covers a taxi home and an overnight stay if your Kizashi cannot be driven after an accident. Worth adding if you use the car for intercity runs.

  • Emergency Medical Expenses: It pays hospital and ambulance costs for you and your occupants after a collision.

  • Additional Third-Party Property Damage Cover: It raises your liability limit beyond the base Schedule figure.

Please note: Add-on covers come with age-based eligibility criteria. Therefore, an add-on available for your Maruti Kizashi today may not remain available at a later renewal.

How to File a Maruti Kizashi Car Insurance Claim

Cashless Claim

Under a cashless claim, your Kizashi is repaired at a garage within our network, and we pay the approved repair cost to the garage on your behalf.

  • Register your claim: Report the incident to TATA AIG at the earliest opportunity. You can call 022-6489-8282, write to general.claims@tataaig.com, or message us on WhatsApp at 9136160375. You can also register through the claims page on our website and the TATA AIG mobile app. If you would rather register in person, your nearest branch office can take the claim forward for you.

  • Choose a network garage: Move your Kizashi to a TATA AIG network garage to qualify for cashless repair. Authorised Maruti Suzuki service centres form part of this network in cities where they are listed.

  • Allow the damage assessment: We will depute a surveyor or take you through a video inspection. Hold off on repair work until approval comes through, unless we advise otherwise.

  • Let the garage carry out repairs: Approved work begins once the assessment is complete. Should the garage uncover further damage during the job, it must return to us for fresh approval.

  • Settle your portion: We pay the garage the approved bill. Your share covers the deductible, depreciation on replaced parts and anything falling outside the policy.

Reimbursement Claim

Choose reimbursement when you prefer to repair your Kizashi at a garage outside TATA AIG's cashless network.

  • Raise the claim: Report the incident to TATA AIG at the earliest opportunity. You can call 022-6489-8282, write to general.claims@tataaig.com, or message us on WhatsApp at 9136160375. Registration is also open through the claims page on our website and the TATA AIG mobile app. To register in person, visit your nearest branch office.

  • Allow the damage assessment: A physical or digital survey establishes the extent of damage. Hold off on repair work until the survey is complete, unless we advise otherwise.

  • Get the car repaired: Once approval comes through, have the work done at an authorised garage. You meet the cost at this stage, so keep every original bill and receipt.

  • Send us the paperwork: Submit the claim documents together with repair invoices, receipts and estimates. Gaps in the paperwork are the usual cause of delay.

  • Collect the settlement: Reimbursement is processed within seven working days of our receiving complete documentation. You receive the approved amount through NEFT, after applicable deductions.

Frequently Asked Questions

General

Can I still insure a Kizashi that has been off the road for several years?

iconDown

Yes, though a lapsed policy calls for a vehicle inspection before cover begins. Your No Claim Bonus is forfeited if the break exceeds 90 days.

Does imported parts pricing affect how my claim is settled?

iconDown

Where a part is unavailable in India, settlement follows the manufacturer's price list plus transport and import duty, less applicable depreciation.

Can I lower my Kizashi premium without cutting the cover?

iconDown

Opting for a voluntary deductible reduces your own-damage premium. Anti-theft device certification and automobile association membership attract further discounts.
