Generally, visas are issued within 3 working days after the authorities receive all required details, including the visa approval from the Vietnam Immigration Department.

Vietnam Visa Requirements For Indian Citizens - Eligibility Criteria

For visa-on-arrival

  • Joining a tour organised by an authorised travel agency in Vietnam.
  • Travelling to multiple countries before entering Vietnam.
  • Being a crew member of a ship anchored in Vietnam and exiting via the border checkpoint.
  • Entering to attend a relative’s funeral or visiting a critically ill family member.
  • Any other emergency scenarios approved by the authorities.

For e-visa and other visa types

  • A valid passport with at least 6 months’ validity from the date of arrival in Vietnam.
  • As per Vietnamese Law, Article 8, individuals listed in Clauses 1,2,3 and 4 are not eligible to apply for an e-Visa.
  • It is also not applicable to individuals who are subject to cases of suspension from entry as stated under Article 21.

  • A valid passport with at least 6 months’ validity from the date of arrival in Vietnam.
  • Approval for the entry from the Immigration Department of Vietnam arranged by the inviting, sponsoring, or tourism individual or company.

A Vietnam e-Visa may take 5 - 30 days to be processed. You can check your application status and print your e-Visa result.

  1. Contact the inviting or sponsoring company, agency or individual in Vietnam and provide your personal details.
  2. The company can log in to their account on the Vietnam Ministry of Public Security Immigration Department E-Visa Website for organisations.
  3. Further, they can provide the required information and proceed to pay the Vietnam visa fees for Indians online.
  4. Get the e-Visa application number or the code generated.
  5. With this code, you can check your application status and print your e-Visa result.

How to Apply for Vietnam Visa-on-Arrival?

  5. The border control authority will issue your Vietnam visa-on-arrival after reviewing your application and personal details.

  2. The company will request the approval letter for the entry from the Immigration Department of Vietnam.
