What is CMHT Manipur?

CMHT stands for Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang. It is essentially a health insurance scheme introduced by the Manipur government for ensuring health and welfare of the poor and disabled. Under this scheme, eligible candidates can avail of cashless treatment at registered government hospitals, healthcare centres, and a few empanelled private hospitals as well.

With CMHT, each eligible candidate belonging to the Socio Economic Caste Census data - SECC-2011 will receive a coverage of up to ₹5 lakh.

Moreover, health insurance under CMHT will cover seven critical illnesses, including kidney problems, cardiovascular diseases, liver diseases, neurological disorders, neonatal disorders and burns.

In order to get CMHT benefits, candidates need to register themselves with the help of Asha workers at various booths, CHCs, and district hospital centres.

Benefits of CMHT Manipur

There are several notable benefits of the Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang Scheme. Some of these are as follows:

Cashless Treatment: The primary objective of the Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tenbang is to allow eligible candidates to get cashless treatment without spending any cash at the network hospitals. It offers a limit of up to ₹50,000 for general treatment and up to ₹5 lakh for critical ailments per annum per family.

Critical Illness Coverage: One of the main highlights of the CMHT scheme is that it offers coverage for critical ailments such as cardiac diseases and kidney problems. It allows financially struggling individuals to get treated for these life threatening conditions.

Outside Treatment Allowance: In the case of treatment outside Manipur, the beneficiaries will be given an allowance of ₹1,000 per day and up to ₹10,000 for the entire period of hospitalisation.

Transport Allowance: Besides excellent health coverage, the CMHT Manipur scheme also offers a transport allowance of up to ₹300 per hospital visit. An annual amount of ₹3,000 is given as a part of the entire amount of ₹5 lakh per family.

In case of treatment outside the state, the scheme covers air or bus ticket prices to the beneficiary along with a single attendant. This amount will account for an upper ceiling of ₹30,000 per year and will be included in the limit of ₹5 lakh.

Eligibility Criteria for CMHT Health Card Manipur

In order to enrol for the CMHT scheme, the interested individuals must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Benefits of CMHT are only available for the needy and poor families registered under the scheme.

  • CMHT is also available for bona fide citizens, including the disabled and widows.

  • Bona fide individuals in Manipur who do not fall under any of the above mentioned categories but are poor and needy may also apply for the benefits. Their eligibility will be subject to the DC verification process.

  • AAY (Antodaya Anna Yojana) card holders are also eligible.

  • Anganwadi Helpers

  • Anganwadi Workers

  • ASHA Workers

  • Ima Market Women Vendors

  • Newspaper Hawkers and Local Media Persons

How to Enrol Yourself to the CMHT Scheme?

If you want to register yourself or your family for CMHT, then below is the simple enrollment process you need to follow:

  • ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers will notify the eligible individuals/families at least two days before the start of the registration process.

  • Upon notification, CMHT applicants are required to be present at the specified enrollment centre along with the required documents.

  • Once verification is successful, all the applicants will receive a CMHT card and a UID (unique identification number) per family.

  • Each applicant is required to pay the nominal enrollment fee except for widows, disabled, and AAY card holders.

Enrollment Fee for CMHT Certification

The enrollment fee for the CMHT scheme is ₹50 per family. This amount covers the cost of the ID card and application processing. As mentioned above, widows, disabled and AAY card holders are exempt from paying these enrollment fees. However, they must submit the supporting documents to get this exemption.

CMHT Manipur Empanelled Hospitals List

All the district hospitals, sub-district hospitals, CHCs, JNIMS, and RIMS are within the network of CMHT scheme. The beneficiaries can get their treatment at any of these hospitals in their state if the required treatment is available.

  • Further, the beneficiaries will be guided by the ISA appointed coordinators at various empanelled hospitals for their admission, discharge, or any query or concern during their treatment.
