-Immigration or D Category: Those individuals who wish to stay in Georgia for a longer duration must apply for the immigration or D category visa. This visa type is appropriate for individuals who want to work, study, invest or join their family members in Georgia. The following visas are issued under the immigration category:**

-D1 category: D1 visa is for individuals coming for labour activities, company representatives of companies travelling to Georgia for official duties, individuals who want to conduct entrepreneurial activities, etc.

-D2 category: This visa is for those individuals who arrive in Georgia for sports, scientific purposes, educational mission, freelancers, internship, mass media workers, etc.

-D3 category: It is for individuals coming to Georgia for conducting research or studying at authorised educational institutes in Georgia or for international study programs.

-D4 category: Family reunification.

-D5 category: This visa is for individuals who own real estate property in Georgia under Georgia's legislation.

-Transit or T Category: A transit visa is issued to those Indians who want to pass through the Georgia International Airport for their onward journey to another destination.

A Georgia visa application can be made at the official E-visa portal or VFS Global by paying the visa application charges as prescribed by the Georgia immigration authorities. It is crucial to mention that the visa applications must be accompanied by the relevant as per the type of visa.

The visa fee also depends on where you are applying for the visa. If you apply for a Georgia e-visa for an Indian through the Georgia E-Visa Portal, the charges are $20 + a 2% service charge. -Georgia Visa for Indian: E-Visa:

Those who want a short-term visa for Georgia must make an application online for an e-visa. The e-Visa allows you to stay in Georgia for up to 30 days with multiple entries. Here are the steps to apply for an e-visa.

• Go to the home page of the Georgia E-Visa Portal.

• Click the ‘Apply Now’ button on the page.

The E-Visa application page will appear. Select the appropriate options under each dropdown menu. Enter the security verification code accurately and click the tick box to confirm.

• Click the” Next” button at the bottom of the page.

• A dialogue box will appear stating information about the documents needed for visa application. Read the instructions carefully and select ‘Continue.’

• Next, proceed to the travel information section and fill in the travel dates.

• Tick all the checkboxes in the terms and conditions section and proceed to the next page.

• In the Personal Information section, fill out the details accurately, such as the name, date of birth, email address, passport details, and so on. At this stage, you must also upload a scanned copy of your passport to a single page. Click on ‘Next’ to proceed.

• Once you have completed the steps, you must proceed to the verification stage. You will receive a verification on your email, which is valid only for one hour. Thus, you must carry out the verification process in time.

• Note: If the verification link expires, your application will become invalid and you will have to carry out the application process again.

-E-Application System:

If you require a long-term visa, you must apply through the E-application system, i.e. the Georgian Embassy or Consulate. You can apply through the VFS Global portal or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia page.

• Navigate to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia page.

• Choose your citizenship status as a ‘Foreign citizen/stateless person’. Choose your country as India from the options and then click on the “Embassy of Georgia to India, New Delhi” button. Then, click on the ‘Next’ button.

• You will see the services page on the screen, where you must click on the service as ‘Visa of Georgia.’

• Next, select the visa categories, such as Immigration, Ordinary and Transit Visa.

• An information box will pop up indicating the visa details. Read through the details and click on “Next.”

• Here, you must choose the “Postal Message” option if you want to apply directly to the Embassy.

• The personal information section will appear on the next page, which you must fill out accurately. You must also upload a biometric picture of the specified dimension. After you have provided all the required information, click on Next.

• You must check the information summary thoroughly before submitting the documents.

• Next, you must schedule an appointment at the Georgia Embassy or Consulate either through the website or by contacting them directly.

• Submit all the necessary documents and visa applications to the officer at the Embassy.

• Lastly, you must pay the visa application fee using the available methods.

• After verifying your application and information, you will receive the visa.

-Through VFS Global

If you wish to apply for a Georgia visa for an Indian through the VFS Global portal, follow the steps from one to five mentioned above. Then, follow the instructions below.

• After you have selected your citizenship and the services required, choose VFS Global as your preferred choice.

• Follow the same procedure as above to fill out the personal information section.

• Once the application is submitted, you must now book an appointment by visiting the VFS Global portal.

• On the appointment page, click on the words “Attend the Visa Application Centre.”

• You will be redirected to the centres for VFS Global.

• Choose your city or the nearest city VAC.

• Click on ”Book Now”.

• On the next page, click on “I don’t have an account”.

• Next, create an account on the VFS portal.

• Log in using the new credentials and schedule an appointment.

• On the scheduled day you must visit the application centre with the application form and all the mandatory documents (original and copies).

• Pay the visa fees if you haven’t paid them online.

• Complete the procedure at the application centre and collect the payment receipt. Preserve the receipt, as it will assist you in tracking your application.

• The application centre will forward your application to the Embassy or Consulate and after successful verification, you will receive the visa.

• You can track your application to find out what stage it is at.

Note: Once you apply to the VFS centre and pay the fees, you must upload a scanned copy of the fee payment receipt on the Georgia online portal.
