  • The starting price for a Jeep SUV is around ₹17.99 lakhs (on-road price) for the Compass. The most expensive Jeep vehicle is the Wrangler, which costs around ₹65.58 lakhs and ₹81.04 lakhs (on-road price).

  • Each model comes with different variants, with either petrol or diesel engines and automatic or manual transmission.

  • Jeep SUVs are equipped with modern technologies, including large touchscreen infotainment systems, multiple connectivity options, voice command and high-quality speaker systems.

Recent Risks Around Jeep Cars & Why Insurance Is a Must in India?

  • Legal Compliance: The Motor Vehicles Act makes it mandatory for every motor vehicle owner to get third-party insurance coverage. When caught without valid insurance, traffic authorities can impose fines from ₹2000 to ₹4000, imprisonment up to 3 months or both.

  • Damage from Accidents: Road traffic accidents have become more common than ever in India. The number of yearly traffic accidents has increased from 3.72 lakhs in 2020 to 4.87 lakhs in 2024, making car insurance a practical choice for Jeep owners.

  • Coverage from Vehicle Theft: Vehicle thefts are a major nightmare for Jeep owners, as they have increased significantly in India. Having a Jeep car insurance plan helps cover the cost of replacing a stolen vehicle.

  • Covers Repairs and Part Replacement: Jeep SUVs are expensive to repair due to their premium prices and limited availability. Original Jeep parts, including alternator, clutch sets and fuel injection systems, can cost between ₹30,000-₹50,000. A car insurance plan lets you cover such costs with a small premium.

  • Complete Coverage: The best Jeep insurance plans cover damage to your car against traffic collisions, fire, lightning, floods, cyclones, vandalism, theft, and other risks. They may also cover financial and legal liabilities from third-party injuries, property damage and fatalities.

  • Cashless Repairs: Getting a car insurance plan provides you with access to a large network of garages partnered with the insurer. When your Jeep car is lost or damaged, you can get cashless repairs and services at your nearest network garage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which is better- a third-party or a comprehensive plan for a Jeep car?

iconDown

Since third-party insurance is the most basic and affordable insurance for a Jeep, it’s a good option when you are tight on budget and plan to get an own-damage plan later. A comprehensive plan is a better choice for all other cases, as it provides complete financial protection. It’s better when you drive frequently or want to insure a premium Jeep car.

What are the disadvantages of zero depreciation insurance?

iconDown

The main disadvantage of a zero depreciation cover is that it applies only when you get a part replacement, and there is a deduction for depreciation. Moreover, you need to get the Jeep car repaired at one of our authorised dealers or service stations. Zero depreciation cover is still a highly useful add-on for covering expensive part replacements.

What is the average insurance cost for a Jeep?

iconDown

The cost of a Jeep insurance plan depends on the type of policy chosen. For third-party insurance, the costs are fixed at ₹7897 for the Meridian, Compass, Wrangler and Grand Cherokee. However, the price for own damage and comprehensive plan is variable and dependent on a lot of factors, including the car’s IDV, age and registration location, applicable add-ons and bonuses, your driving history, etc.

What are first, second and third parties in car insurance?

iconDown

For a car insurance plan, the first party is the policyholder, who is also the owner of the vehicle. The second party is the insurer or insurance company that covers damage to the insured car or third parties. Lastly, the third party is anyone affected by your vehicle. Third-party plans cover injuries, property damage and death caused to third parties.

What happens if you don’t renew your Jeep insurance on time?

iconDown

Failure to complete your Jeep insurance renewal on time leads to the lapse of your policy and the loss of insurance coverage. Loss of third-party coverage can result in financial liabilities and fines from ₹2000 to ₹4000. Loss of own damage coverage means that you have to cover repairs and replacement out of your own pocket. It also depletes your accumulated No Claim Bonus.
