Assam e-challan is a digital copy of an official challan given by a traffic police officer to traffic rules violators. This challan entails the details of the violation, including the type of violation, place, time, and penalty amount that needs to be paid.

Under the Motor Vehicles Act 1988, some traffic rules violations include acts like driving without a licence, jumping traffic signals, parking in no parking zones, etc. Breaking these laws results in getting penalised, and an e-challan is generated immediately.

Step 1: Go to the official Parivahan Sewa website.

Step 2: On the homepage, hover over the “Online Services” tab and then click on the “eChallan” option under it.

Step 3: Next, on the directed page, click on “Check Online Services”. Then click on the “Check Challan Status” option.

Step 4: Here, you need to provide your details under any of the following options: challan number, vehicle number, or DL number.

Step 5: After this, fill in the captcha given on the screen and select “Get Detail.”

Step 6: On the page loaded you will be displayed your e-challan Assam details.

Here are the steps to make payment for e-challan Assam police from both online methods.

Via Parivahan e-Challan Website

Step 1: Visit the official webpage of Parivahan e-Challan.

Step 2: On the page, fill in your details under DL , vehicle or challan number.

Step 3: After this, fill in the captcha given and select the “Get Detail” option.

Step 4: Your challan information will be displayed on the screen. Verify the details and start with the payment process..

Step 5: Make payment using any of the given payment methods.

Step 6: After the payment is successful, take a print-out of your payment receipt for future reference.

Via the Paytm App

Step 1: Go to the Paytm app on your mobile device.

Step 2: On the app’s homepage, tap on “Show More” and then select the “Recharge and Pay Bills” option.

Step 3: Now choose “Challan.”

Step 4: Select the traffic authority of the state/city you live in.

Step 5: Next, enter your e-challan details: UIN number, vehicle registration number, or driving licence number.

Step 6: Tap “Proceed” to check your challan details and amount.

Step 7: Next, enter your penalty amount and proceed with payment from any of the given payment methods.

Step 8: After successful payment, download and save your payment receipt for future reference.

To Traffic Police Officer

You can pay your Assam traffic police challan on the spot to the officer who has generated your challan. Provide the officer with your driving licence details, verify your challan amount, and pay them in cash. Once the payment is done you can ask them for your payment receipt for future reference.

Suppose you have been notified via message regarding your e-challan. Then, you need to locate a traffic police officer who is carrying an e-challan machine. Approach them with your challan details and driving licence. Verify your challan details provided by them and make payment. After payment is done, ask for your payment receipt.

Visit the Traffic Police Office

Locate and visit your nearest traffic police office with your driving licence, vehicle registration number, and challan details.

Provide the concerned officer with your details and verify your challan amount with them. After that, make payment in cash and take your payment receipt for future proof.

• A police officer can visit your registered residence address to collect the e-challan penalty.

• If you are not present at your residence during the police visit, then a court summons will be sent to your address, and you have to be present in front of the court on the summoned date.
