After you buy the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, you might want to go on a long ride. However, there’s a task that you must prioritise: buying a bike insurance policy. You may feel that you are a cautious driver and can avoid accidents, but you can end up in trouble because of the other party’s carelessness. Let’s look at the reasons you must have Suzuki bike insurance.

  • According to the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988, it is mandatory to have insurance for 2-wheelers.

  • Two-wheeler insurance protects you against third-party liabilities.

  • It provides financial protection against theft or total loss of the bike.

  • You can enjoy the benefits of a personal accident cover.

  • You do not have to pay any hefty fines to the traffic police.

  • You have financial coverage for the expenses arising from damages caused by natural calamities.

Tata AIG offers three different types of bike insurance policies to protect the bike owner financially in the event of any unforeseen circumstances like accidents, theft, or natural disasters. You can choose from the options of third-party bike insurance, comprehensive bike insurance, and standalone own-damage cover. The comprehensive bike insurance policy offers complete protection for the bike, including third-party liabilities, personal accident cover, losses incurred due to natural disasters, etc.

  • Visit Tata AIG’s official website and proceed to the Bike Insurance page.

  • Press the ‘Get Price’ button if you are buying a new policy. Press ‘Renew’ if you are an existing policyholder.

  • Note: Insured Declared Value is the vehicle’s current market value, or the maximum sum assured defined by the insurer to offer in the event of vehicle theft or total loss. Remember to input accurate values, as IDV affects your Suzuki bike insurance premium.

  • Step 5: Opt for a ‘No Claim Bonus’ if you do not have any claim history.

  • Note: No Claim Bonus (NCB) refers to a reward offered by the insurer if the policyholder does not raise any claim requests during a policy year. It can range between 20% to 50%.

  • Choose add-on covers as per your choice to enhance policy coverage.

  • On the screen, you will see a premium quote and the sum insured. Pay the premium online using any of the accepted digital payment methods if the sum insured and premium quote are satisfactory for you.

Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 - What is the Premium Amount?

Premium amount plays a crucial role in deciding which insurance policy you should buy. Many factors influence the premium amount, including the bike’s make and model, coverage, engine make, age of the two-wheeler, cubic capacity, safety devices, deductibles, add-on covers, the city where the bike is registered, No Claim Bonus (NCB), etc.

A higher deductible means a lower bike insurance premium. Likewise, the premium for a comprehensive bike insurance plan is higher than the premium for a third-party insurance plan. It is because the coverage offered in the two different plans also varies.

The bike insurance premium calculator on our website can help you understand the amount of money you will have to set aside to buy Suzuki bike insurance online. Fill out the bike’s registration number, make and model, details of past claims, and other necessary information. Select the add-on covers based on your requirements and press ‘Get Price.’

In an instant, you will see the premium quote. If you are not comfortable with the premium calculated, go back a few steps and alter the plan type or the number of add-on covers to lower the premium. Each add-on cover comes at an additional cost. So, you can remove the ones that are not quite essential.

Inclusions and Exclusions of Tata AIG’s Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 Insurance

What is included in Tata AIG’s Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 insurance?  What is not included in Tata AIG’s Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 insurance?
Basic insurance for  a 2-wheeler covers the financial and legal liabilities incurred due to third-party damages. A comprehensive bike insurance plan covers financial damages for you, the vehicle, and third-party property/person. If there are damages due to regular wear and tear, mechanical or electrical breakdown, or consequential loss due to the bike’s age, the policy does not offer any coverage.
Under the comprehensive bike insurance policy, the bike owner is entitled to receive a sum assured equivalent to the bike’s current market value in case of theft or total loss of the bike.  The policy does not include coverage for damages suffered outside the defined geographical borders, i.e., outside India.
A comprehensive bike insurance policy provides own damage cover to cover the damages arising from natural disasters, man-made damages like terrorist attacks, riots, etc., and in transit by roadways, railways, air, etc.  If the rider is not wearing a helmet or does not have a valid driving licence, damages suffered in these situations are not covered by the policy.
A personal accident cover of ₹15 lakhs is also provided to the owner-driver under the comprehensive bike insurance policy. This cover is to help meet medical expenses incurred to treat personal injuries. Under a third-party liability policy, there is no personal accident cover for the owner-driver and also no own damage cover for the bike.
It is possible to enhance the coverage of third-party bike insurance plans and standalone own-damage cover with add-ons.  The policy does not cover damage caused by illegal racing, speed testing, etc., deliberate damage, or damage caused by driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Add-ons for Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 Bike Insurance by Tata AIG

Add-on covers are available at an extra cost. You can include them in your comprehensive bike insurance policy to further enhance coverage. Tata AIG offers seven attractive add-ons that you can choose to ensure protection against all situations and damages.

Roadside assistance:

The roadside assistance add-on provides immediate breakdown assistance at your location to deal with many common issues like fuel requirements, dead batteries, flat tyres, electrical/mechanical repairs, etc. You also get the benefits of on-the-spot repairs with this add-on.

Return-to-invoice cover:

In the event of theft or total loss, a bike insurance policy reimburses the Insured Declared Value (IDV) or current market value of the bike. This add-on helps you receive the invoice cost of the vehicle.

Depreciation allowance:

The zero depreciation or bumper-to-bumper or nil depreciation cover helps you tackle depreciation. Generally, depreciation is deducted from the bike insurance claim amount when you file a claim for the repair or replacement of the bike’s parts. This add-on reimburses the depreciation amount in the first two claims.

Additional third-party property damage cover:

A comprehensive and third-party bike insurance policy covers third-party liabilities. This add-on enables you to enjoy additional cover for third-party liabilities.

Additional personal accident cover for the owner-driver:

With this add-on, you can safeguard yourself and your family against serious injuries or fatalities caused by an accident. The appointed beneficiary receives a personal accident cover if the owner-driver passes away. The add-on reimbursement amount is over and above the standard sum assured.

Emergency medical expenses:

This add-on reimburses the medical expenses incurred to treat the injuries you or the pillion rider suffer in an accident. It covers emergency medical expenses and the costs of shifting you and the pillion rider to the hospital.

Consumables expenses:

If your bike’s washers, screws, engine oil, brake oil, gearbox oil, nuts/bolts, lubricants, and other consumables are damaged due to an accident leading to losses, this add-on reimburses the costs of replenishing, repairing, or replacing them.
