Telangana Vehicle Registration Charges

Functions of Telangana RTO

There is a large variety of functions that are overseen by the Telangana RTO. Some of its main functions include;

  • At the Telangana RTO, people can apply for and receive their driver's licence, as well as copies of the driver’s licence, business permits, and other licences.

How to Register a Vehicle at a Telangana RTO Office?

As far as vehicle registration is concerned, most people will opt to get the process done at their car dealer's office so that the process is complete before they take the car home. However, there are a few people who would rather do things on their own to ensure that things have been done the right way. If you are someone who would rather go about registering your vehicle on your own, here is what you need to do.

  1. First, you will need to take your unregistered vehicle to the Telangana RTO office.
  2. Once there, you will need to ask for form 20 and fill it with all the relevant information. You will also need to attach the following documents;
  • The provisional registration certificate you have received from your car dealer
  • Address proof
  • Proof of registration fee payment
  • Sale certificate of the car
  • PUC certificate
  • PAN card photocopy
  • Recent coloured photographs
  • If you have purchased your car on loan from the bank, you need to submit form 34
  1. Once you have filled the form and attached the documents, an official will check to see if everything is in place.
  2. When the verification is done and you have cleared the payments that need to be made, you will be issued a smart card that you can use as a registration certificate. The smart card will be sent to your address in a few days’ time.

How to Renew a Registration Certificate in Telangana?

Renewal of a registration certificate has to be done in two cases. The first is when you have been using your registration certificate for 15 years, and it is going to expire, and the second is if you are moving to Telangana from a different state. Therefore, the process a person needs to follow when renewing their registration differs from applying for registration the first time.

If you have to renew your registration certificate in Telangana, you must go to the Telangana RTO office and submit the following documents.

  • Fee for re-registration
  • Carefully filled out Form 25
  • Receipt of Road Tax payment
  • Previous registration certificate
  • Pollution Under Control (PUC) Certificate
  • Car fitness certificate
  • Valid four-wheeler insurance
