The new version of the Xcent is available in petrol and diesel variants. But prices haven’t seen a significant hike despite the upgrades, which makes the Xcent a great value proposition.

The cost of the Hyundai Xcent starts at Rs 5.81 lakh for the base petrol model and goes up to Rs 8.75 lakh for the top-end diesel variant. The sedan is available in five eye-catching colours: Marine Blue, Typhoon Silver, Star Dust, Fiery Red, and Polar White.

Hyundai has also introduced a factory-fitted CNG version of the Hyundai Xcent, called Xcent Prime. Two variants (T and T+) have been launched at Rs 5.93 lakh and Rs 6.12 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), but are only available for purchase by fleet operators for commercial use. The price are estimated.

Hyundai Xcent features

Inspired by Hyundai’s signature Fluidic design philosophy, the new-generation Xcent has a premium look and feel to it. Even though it’s built on the same platform as that of the Grand i10 hatchback, the redesigned front fascia and cascading grille design make it look like a completely different car.

The new Xcent boasts of sleek headlamps with LED DRL fog lamps, stylish diamond-cut alloy wheels, a chunkier rear-end with a redesigned boot lid, and wider rear lamps. The car now looks more mature and well-proportioned for a sub-4 metre sedan.

The interiors are airy and spacious, and the boot is large too. The rear AC vent, collapsible centre armrest, and cooled glove-box make it a good chauffeur-driven option in the city. At the driver’s end, you have an adjustable power steering and a new voice command button. You also get a new colour TFT LCD instrument cluster next to a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit that is intuitive and has a sharp display.

On the performance front, the Xcent comes with either a 1.2L CDRi diesel engine or a 1.2L Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine. The engine delivers a maximum power of 75 ps at 4000 rpm and 190 Nm torque at 1750 to 2250 rpm. The 5-speed manual transmission option is available in both diesel and petrol, whereas the 4-speed automatic transmission is available in the 1.2 Kappa petrol S variant.

The Xcent returns an impressive mileage too. The manual petrol variant delivers 20.14 kmpl, while the automatic returns 17.36 kmpl. The diesel offers a mileage of 25.4 kmpl.
