Ertiga Insurance

The brand-new Ertiga from Maruti Suzuki is sculpted to stand out. This Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) makes a great family car. It is big on performance, with modern interiors, and boasts of a great road presence. Now it comes with the new smart hybrid technology for petrol and a CNG variant that offers greater fuel efficiency.

The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is available in seven variants, and its price ranges from Rs 8.82 lakh to Rs 11.89 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). The car is available in five colours - Metallic Magma Grey, Pearl Metallic Oxford Blue, Pearl Arctic White, Metallic Silky Silver, and Pearl Metallic Auburn Red.

Go the extra mile with style

The Ertiga was initially launched in 2012 as a ‘Life Utility Vehicle’, and it has gained immense popularity. Recently, Maruti announced a sales milestone of 5.5 lakh units, making the Ertiga the most loved MPV in the country. It is also the only MPV in India that comes with a factory-fitted CNG option after the diesel variants were discontinued earlier this year thanks to the BS6 mandate.

Even though the Ertiga is a 7-seater, it is extremely agile and feels no different than driving a Swift. The compact dimensions and good all-round visibility make it easy to drive and park even in our congested cities. Out on the highway, the car offers an extremely smooth ride irrespective of whether you are seated in the first, second, or third row. The Ertiga is supremely comfortable for long distances.

The structure of the monocoque chassis makes ingress and egress easy, even for those seated in the third row, thanks to a big rear door and a one-touch fold-and-slide option. Unlike in other MPVs, the third row is very comfortable, with good seat height and legroom for two people. The 550-litre boot space (with the third row folded) is capacious enough to take the entire family’s luggage.

Under the hood, the Ertiga is available with a BS6-compliant 1.5-litre 1462 cc K15B smart hybrid petrol engine producing 103bhp. While the petrol MT options give a mileage of 19.01 kmpl, the AT options deliver 17.99 kmpl. The CNG version returns a mileage of 26.08 km/kg. Other features that come standard with the Ertiga include a TFT multi-information colour display, steering mounted controls, auto climate control, ABS with EBD, hill hold, electronic stability, and more.

Insuring your Ertiga

To know the estimated premium cost for your Maruti car insurance premium, get the IDV from your local Arena dealership and use the car insurance premium calculator found on the Tata AIG website. You can select the loan value and tenure for Ertiga car insurance based on your budget and financial planning. The cost of Ertiga insurance for the LXi variant is about Rs 22,500, and for the top-end Ertiga ZXi + AT variant it’s estimated at Rs 27,000 (both exclusive of GST).

In addition to a comprehensive third-party and own damage cover, TATA AIG offers several add-on covers. These include an accidental death benefit, consumables cover, depreciation reimbursement, roadside assistance, daily allowance for the alternate vehicle, emergency transport, engine secure, tyre secure, key replacement, loss of personal belongings, reimbursement of accessory fittings, and return to invoice. Opting for add-on covers for your Maruti Suzuki insurance ensures complete protection against all kinds of issues.

Over a period of time, you can bring down the Maruti Ertiga car insurance cost thanks to the no-claim bonus (NCB) cover. For every claim-free year, you can get a discount on premium up to 10% for a single year, going all the way up to 50% over a cumulative five-year period if no claims are made during that time.

Registration charges for the Ertiga

To get your new Maruti Ertiga registered, you will have to pay a one-time registration tax to your Regional Transport Office (RTO). The amount could differ from state to state. This charge is usually calculated as a percentage of the IDV of the vehicle and the fuel type. Broadly, charges for the Ertiga range from 6% to 17% depending on your state’s local laws and taxes.

Before you finalise the sale, make it a point to ask your Arena dealer about the registration charges applicable to your vehicle.
