Mitsubishi Cedia Insurance
Mitsubishi Cedia Insurance
The Japanese car manufacturer Mitsubishi launched Cedia in 2009. It was a sporty-looking sedan that could have ruled the Indian roads, but it was discontinued four years later in 2013. While it was still in the market, as a new offering from Mitsubishi, the Cedia was mostly preferred by car enthusiasts. If you ask any of the Mitsubishi Cedia owners, they will tell you about its performance. But the best part of the Cedia was probably its looks. On the road, the Mitsubishi Cedia was a complete head-turner.
Many people still own this car, and if you are a young car enthusiast, it is very likely that you will fall in love with the Cedia the moment you lay your eyes on it. With the long spread of the chassis and with classic spoilers in the back, this car lends out a sporty look. The Cedia has a 1999cc engine producing 115bhp power and 175 Nm torque.
Now, given its unavailability, owning a Mitsubishi Cedia is only possible by purchasing a used car. In that case, you will have to be careful about certain things like proper documentation and, of course, the Mitsubishi Cedia Insurance. As you already know, having four-wheeler insurance in India is a legal mandate. But it becomes all the more important for second-hand premium cars like the Cedia.
If there is an existing car insurance policy for the Mitsubishi Cedia, make sure you transfer the insurance to your name at the time of purchasing the car. In case the car does not have any insurance, you should buy a new one from a trusted insurer like Tata AIG, where you can compare car insurance policies online to get a better deal.
Mitsubishi Cedia Insurance Renewal/Purchase via Tata AIG
Driving an uninsured vehicle on Indian roads is a punishable offence and can attract a penalty of up to ₹2,000. You may also get imprisonment of up to three months or both. Mitsubishi Cedia Insurance Price – Your Premium Amount
Your Mitsubishi Cedia insurance price will depend on certain factors, and one of them is the type of policy you want to purchase. At Tata AIG, we offer three types of motor insurance policies —
Third-party motor insurance policy- It is mandatory by law and provides coverage for unforeseen third-party liabilities that may arise due to an accident involving your car.
Standalone own damage (OD) motor insurance policy- This one covers only the damages sustained by your car during an accident and not the damages caused to third parties.
Comprehensive motor insurance policy- This is a combination of the previous policy types, covering the damages caused to third parties as well as the insured vehicle.
The premium amount for third-party motor insurance policies is decided and regulated by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) and is revised annually. Comprehensive motor insurance policy covers is the most expensive among the three options because it covers both third-party liabilities and own damages.
Other than the policy types, your Mitsubishi Cedia insurance premium will depend on several factors, including the IDV, the age of your car, its registration city, and the motor insurance riders (if you have selected any).

Mitsubishi Cedia is a 4-door sedan launched in the year 2009. It was launched in the premium category with a price tag of ₹8.53 lakhs and went up to ₹9.81 lakhs. It was packed with a 1999cc 4-cylinder petrol engine with FWD technology. The engine produced a maximum torque of 175 Nm and a maximum power of 115bhp, making the Mitsubishi Cedia a driver’s delight.
Further, the car was available in 3 variants and 4 different colours — White Speed, Rally Red, Black Flash, and Cyclone Yellow. Cedia was discontinued in 2012, almost a decade ago. But even for those times, it packed all the important features like power steering, power windows (front) anti-lock braking system (ABS), air conditioner, a driver and passenger side airbag, automatic climate control, fog lights (front), and alloy wheels.
The Mitsubishi Cedia was an attractive-looking car, but one of its main caveats was the mileage. While the ARAI mileage was claimed to be around 15 kmpl, in a real-world scenario, it was around 8 kmpl.
