Jeep Wrangler Insurance

Manufactured by Jeep since 1986, the Jeep Wrangler is a mid-size and compact off-road SUV that is true to its heritage and slogan- Go anywhere. Do anything. It is available in a four-wheel drivetrain and petrol-auto form. The price of this incredible piece of history starts from ₹59.02 lakhs and goes up to ₹63.02 lakhs.

A car with such lineage and reliability deserves to be protected with adequate insurance coverage. Considering the rising accidents on Indian roads and an array of other threats, buying suitable insurance for your Jeep Wrangler can come in handy during mishaps and save you from heavy financial losses. So, if you are looking forward to insuring your Jeep Wrangler, Tata AIG is the right place to approach.

Buying third-party insurance is mandatory according to Indian motor laws. It covers third-party liabilities like third-party injuries, death or property damage. The policy does not cover the damage or loss of the insured car. Standalone own damage insurance covers damages to the insured car only and not third-party liabilities. Comprehensive insurance covers damages to the insured vehicle as well the damages to the third party. You can enhance the coverage through add-on covers. Buying comprehensive car insurance is not mandatory. However, the policy provides all-around protection for your car.

Jeep Wrangler Insurance Price – Your Premium Amount

The prices of Jeep insurance depend on the type of policy you intend to buy. For a third-party liability cover, the price is based on the guidelines of IRDAI, depending on the car’s cubic capacity. However, for a standalone own damage cover and comprehensive insurance, IDV plays a crucial role in deciding the premiums. What is IDV and how it impacts your car insurance price, find out.

IDV is the current market value of your car after accounting for its depreciation. It signifies the maximum amount you can claim if your car is damaged beyond repair or stolen. The calculation of IDV depends on the following factors:

  • Make and model and manufacturer of the car

  • City of car registration

  • Date of car’s registration

  • Car’s cubic capacity and ex-showroom price

  • Type of fuel used in the car

  • Type of use of the car

While buying a car insurance policy, you can notice an increase or decrease in the premium amount when you adjust the IDV. This is because IDV directly impacts the car insurance premium. While lowering your car’s IDV can help you buy a policy at lower prices, it can lead to insufficient compensation at the time of claim settlement. Similarly, if you inflate your car’s IDV to benefit from a higher claim amount, you will end up paying higher policy premiums. Therefore, it is advisable to choose an appropriate value to avail of reasonable compensation for a lost or irreparable car.

Apart from IDV, some other factors that determine your Jeep insurance cost include:

  • Type of car insurance policy

  • Installed anti-theft devices

  • No Claim Bonus in case of existing policy

  • Premium discounts

  • Addition of add-on covers

How does the No Claim Bonus help? Can I transfer my NCB?

iconDown

A No Claim Bonus is a discount offered when you haven’t raised any claim in the previous policy year. For the first claim-free year, an NCB discount of 20% is offered, for the second year, it is 25%, for the third year it is 35%, for the fourth year it is 45% and for the fifth year it is 50%. So, you can claim an NCB discount of up to 50% for five claim-free policy years.

The NCB benefit is available for the policyholder. So, no matter if you buy a new vehicle or change your insurance provider, you can transfer your NCB benefit and keep it intact. However, raising a single claim in a year will make your NCB discount 0% if you do not have the No Claim Bonus protection add-on.
