HSRP Uttar Pradesh
HSRP Uttar Pradesh
All Indian vehicles must have an HSRP or High-Security Registration Plate (Number Plate) with a colour-coded sticker denoting the vehicle’s fuel type. This is per the rule set forth by the Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways (MoRTH) from amending the Central Motor Vehicles Act of 1988.
These rules also undoubtedly apply to the state of Uttar Pradesh. Therefore, all vehicle owners who own a vehicle purchased before April 2019 must register for an HSRP number plate in Uttar Pradesh either online or in person.
If caught driving your vehicle without one, you can be levied a fine of ₹5,000.
This blog explains how to register for an HSRP number plate in Uttar Pradesh, the application fees and everything else you need to know about getting an HSRP booking in Uttar Pradesh.
What You Need to Know Before Registering for a High-Security Number Plate in Punjab:
Your HSRP number plate in Uttar Pradesh will come with a unique 10-digit pin and colour-coded sticker – denoting your vehicle’s fuel type.
The HSRP PINs are unique to the vehicle they are attached to, making it easy for authorities to track and access vital vehicle information through a central database in case of theft.
Only vehicles bought before April 2019 must be affixed with an HSRP number plate in Uttar Pradesh. Vehicles bought after 2019 already come affixed with an HSRP, so manual registration is not needed on your part.
HSRPs with their colour-coded stickers are mandatory. Driving without one will incur a fine of ₹5,000. You should also check if your insurance for your four-wheeler is still valid, as uninsured vehicles can attract additional fines.
UP vehicles with damaged HSRPs and faded colour-coded stickers must be replaced with new ones. These can also attract fines if not replaced.
When making an HSRP booking in Uttar Pradesh, you will only be asked for your RC copy details.
