*Grace Period: It is a period of 30 days from the expiry date of a driving licence. It is a pre-specified timeline provided to the licence holders during which they can get their licence renewed without facing any fine or penalty. In case they apply for DL renewal after this duration, late payment charges are applied in the following way:

₹300: If you renew your DL after the end of the grace period, i.e. 30 days.

₹1000 per year: If you renew your driving after a year of expiry, till five years. After five years, your driving licence application will not be entertained. You will have to apply for a new driving licence altogether.
