Hero Vida V1 Insurance

The largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world, Hero MotoCorp, has sold millions of two-wheelers worldwide. This New Delhi-based Indian company was known as Hero Honda but changed to Hero MotoCorp when Honda sold its stake in 2011. The company manufactures motorcycles, scooters, and electric two-wheelers too.

In 2022, the company announced the launch of “VIDA” to transform mobility globally. This brand will democratise mobility and offer affordable electric bikes to people. The Hero Vida V1 is an electric scooter launched in 2022 in two variants – the Vida V1 Plus and the Vida V1 Pro. However, the Vida V1 Plus variant was subsequently discontinued.

To ensure you enjoy your ride on the Vida V1, purchasing comprehensive insurance for your 2-wheeler is essential.

In India, while a third-party bike insurance policy is mandatory for all vehicles, it does not cover damages to the insured bike. Hence, most people opt for a comprehensive insurance policy for bikes as it covers third-party liabilities plus damages to their two-wheeler.

At Tata AIG, we understand that an insurance policy must cater to the varying requirements of bike owners. Hence, we offer comprehensive Hero Vida V1 insurance plans with an option to choose from seven unique add-on covers, 24x7 support, and a range of features and benefits.

If you plan to buy a Hero Vida V1 insurance policy, read on to find out how you can buy and renew a two-wheeler policy with Tata AIG!

Purchasing or Renewing Your Hero Vida V1 Bike Insurance with Tata AIG Online

Tata AIG offers third-party liability-only insurance and comprehensive Hero bike insurance plans. With us, you will find the process of buying 2-wheeler insurance online simple and hassle-free. You can also opt for Hero bike insurance renewal online to save time and get the renewal done quickly.

Here is how you can buy or renew Tata AIG Hero bike insurance online:

  • Visit www.tataaig.com

  • Go to the Bike Insurance Page

  • Provide the registration number of your two-wheeler and select if you want to purchase a new policy (“Get Price”) or renew an existing Tata AIG policy (“Renew”)

  • Fill out the application form completely with your personal details and information about the bike

  • Choose add-on covers and deductibles based on your requirements

  • Pay the premium

  • Receive the policy documents via email

It is important to choose the Insured Declared Value (IDV) of the bike carefully, as it impacts the coverage and premium amounts. Also, add-on covers are available at a cost. Hence, choose the ones that can help you save on repair costs in the long run.

While renewing the policy, if you have not filed a claim during the previous policy term(s), then you will be eligible for a discount on the premium called the No Claim Bonus. This progressive discount increases with every subsequent year that you don’t file a claim and can go up to 50% of the premium. Make sure to talk to our representatives to understand any other discount offers.

Remember, in most cases, buying/renewing a policy is an entirely online process. However, if our team needs to inspect your vehicle, you will be informed accordingly.

We offer an online two-wheeler insurance premium calculator for seamless and quick premium calculation when buying your Hero Vida V1 insurance with us.

While there are many factors affecting the price of a bike insurance policy, here are some important ones that you need to know:

Hero Vida V1 third-party bike insurance

If you are opting for the mandatory third-party liability-only two-wheeler insurance plan, then the premium of the policy is determined by IRDAI (the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India).

The premium is calculated based on your two-wheeler’s engine capacity (cubic capacity or cc). This is a standardised rate chart made available by the IRDAI annually.

Hero Vida V1 comprehensive bike insurance

When you opt for a comprehensive Hero Vida V1 scooter insurance policy, the premium calculation is based on various factors, including:

Insured Declared Value (IDV): When you decide to buy a Hero Vida V1 comprehensive insurance policy, you are required to choose the IDV of the scooter. This is your bike's current market value, which is also the sum insured. We pay this amount if the bike is stolen or completely damaged. A higher IDV means a higher premium and vice-versa.

IDV and Age of the vehicle: As the two-wheeler ages, its market value decreases, and so does the insurance policy's premium.

Make and model of the bike: Since it is an electric scooter, its premium will be lower than a high-end sports bike. We factor in the costs of repair and replacement of parts to assess the premium.

Location: Riding your scooter in an accident-prone area will increase the premium of the policy since the chances of filing a claim increase too. Hence, the location where your bike is parked or driven frequently will play a role in determining the premium.

Installation of safety devices: We offer discounts to bike owners who install safety devices like anti-burglary alarms.

Bike modifications: Many people modify their bikes to make them look and/or perform better. However, this can impact its performance and make it attractive and theft-prone. Hence, the premium for an insurance policy for modified bikes is usually higher.

Choice of add-on covers: Every add-on cover is available at a cost. Hence, your policy premium will increase based on the add-on covers you choose.

Additional Rider Plans for Your Hero Vida V1 Insurance Online

Every bike owner has some unique requirements from the insurance policy. Tata AIG offers seven useful add-on covers to cater to these varying needs. These add-ons allow you to customize your insurance policy to offer coverage based on your needs. Here are the details of the add-ons offered by us:**

Zero Depreciation Cover: This is also known as Zero Depreciation or Bumper-to-Bumper cover. When you file a claim, we process the amount after factoring in the depreciation of the bike and its parts. However, with this add-on, we do not deduct depreciation and process the entire amount.

Return to Invoice Cover: The IDV is the amount reimbursed if your bike is stolen or totalled. Depending on the age of the bike, this can be lower than the purchase cost of a new bike of the same make and model. With this add-on, we reimburse the current on-road price of the bike and not the IDV.

Emergency Medical Expenses Cover: If you want additional cover for managing ambulance and medical treatment costs for the owner-driver and pillion rider, this is a good add-on.

Additional Personal Accident Cover: While you get a personal accident cover in the comprehensive policy, you can opt for this add-on to increase the coverage amount.

Additional Third-Party Property Damage Cover: While you get a third-party liability cover in the comprehensive policy, you can opt for this add-on to increase the coverage amount.

Consumables Expenses Cover: This add-on cover helps include the costs of consumables like lubricants, oils, nuts, screws, etc., under the comprehensive policy cover.

Roadside Assistance Cover: With this add-on, you can get emergency breakdown assistance if your scooter breaks down at any time of the day or night.
