Driving Licence Renewal in Punjab

The validity period of a driving licence is the duration for which the licence is valid in the state and vehicle owners are qualified to drive. The validity of a driving licence for non-commercial vehicles is 20 years from the date of issue for the vehicle owner under 50 years of age.

Below are the steps for the renewal of a driving licence in Punjab online.

Step 1: To renew the DL in Punjab, head to the government-authorised Parivahan Sewa portal.

Step 2: The next action is to click on the “Online Services” option on the top menu.

Step 8: The portal will pull out the vehicle owner's driving licence information; after that, you have to verify it, select the Dl category and RTO city and click the “Proceed” button.

Step 10: After paying the fees, click the “Submit” button and save the acknowledgement receipt.

Step 11: The Punjab RTO official will verify the documents and form and then issue the new driving licence.

Procedure for Driving Licence Renewal Offline in Punjab

Besides the online procedure, there is an offline procedure for driving licence renewal in Punjab. The steps for the same are as follows:

Step 1: To renew your driving licence, visit the nearby RTO centre in your neighbourhood.

Step 2: Collect all the driving licence renewal forms from the authority.

Step 3: Fill out the form and then submit the form and all other documents to the RTO officer.

Step 4: Next, pay the DL renewal fees and collect the acknowledgement receipt.

Step 5: The officer will verify the documents and send them via post to the given address if the application is approved.
