Driving License - Kerala

When you have purchased your new bike in Kerala and are excited about exploring God's Own Country, there are many options for leisure or a purposeful trip. While researching the places and groundwork is necessary, there are a few essential preparations that you have to ascertain. Having a driving licence is one of the most important among them. According to the Motor Vehicles Act 1988, having a driving licence is mandatory when travelling to any place in India.

The Regional Transport Office Of Kerala issues the driving licence to applicants who have passed the necessary tests and completed the registration processes. There are about 17 regional and 42 sub-regional transport offices in Kerala. They offer various driving licence-related services, such as Duplicate Driving License, Driving License Renewal, International Driving License, etc.,

In addition to a driving licence, having insurance for the 2-wheeler is equally important. In India, it is mandatory to have third-party liability insurance, which covers the expenses incurred due to third-party liabilities or properties. The stand-alone bike insurance policy covers the damages exclusively incurred to your insured bike. And the comprehensive bike insurance policy covers the own damage and the third-party liabilities.

Therefore, you must analyse your budget and insurance requirements to compare two-wheeler insurance plans and purchase a suitable bike insurance policy.

Ensure to have the documents related to your bike, driving licence and bike insurance policy either as a hardcopy or in digital format to travel safely without any legal implications anywhere in Kerala and across India.
