Dubai Transit Visa

Dubai is touted as one of the safest cities in the world. It serves as a global hub for travellers from all over the world during layovers and flight transfers. This may be the case for you as well when travelling to Europe, North America or Africa from India.

If so, then as an Indian citizen, you will be required to get a Dubai transit visa for Indians. This is a type of visa issued to travellers passing through Dubai to another destination. These visas are sponsored by UAE-based airlines.

Read on to find out how you can get a transit visa for Dubai as an Indian passport holder if you have a layover at Dubai International Airport.

Is There a Dubai Transit Visa-On-Arrival for Indian Passport Holders?

No, India is not included in the list of countries that qualify for visa-on-arrival or visa-free-entry. Hence, Indians must have a transit visa before they visit Dubai.

As an Indian citizen, you will need to apply for a transit visa sponsored by a UAE-based airline, which must be processed and approved before you can enter Dubai or the UAE.

However, if you are an Indian national who is a green card holder, a permanent resident or holds a residence visa in the United States of America, United Kingdom or European Union Countries – you will be eligible for visa-on-arrival services.

If this is the case, you can proceed straight to immigration upon disembarking to get a visa-on-arrival for a maximum stay of 14 days.
