Eligibility Criteria for Citizenship by Investment

You need to be a well-established business owner or entrepreneur.

An annual turnover of the business of at least SGD 200 million.

Either hold 30% shares of the corporation or be a part of the corporation management team.

The investment value should be a minimum of SGD 2,500,000 to be eligible OR

An investment worth SGD 2.5 million for a new business or towards the expansion of an existing business OR

SGD 2.5 million in a Global Investor Program-Select Fund for further investments in Singapore businesses OR

Start a new business office of your business in Singapore with an asset value of SGD 200 million

How To Apply for Global Investor Program

Applicants must submit the application form for the Global Investor Program via post and online to the Singapore Economic Development Board.

You need to appear then for the immigration interview to discuss the investment plans, business turnover, experience as a business owner, investment options, etc.

If no further supporting documents are required, and the assessment is passed, the applicant will receive an Approval-in Principle residence permit with a validity of 6 months.

For the validity of the residency of 6 months from the date of the AIP letter, the applicant must meet all the necessary investment conditions for the chosen investment option.

The applicant must fulfil the investment requirements and provide valid evidence like bank statements, legal documents, and share certificate copies to submit to the authorities as an Investment Undertaking per the investment option.

Upon verification of the said documents submitted as investment proof by EDB, the ICA will send the Final Letter of Approval for PR.

After 2 years of PR, you can apply for a 3 or 5-year renewal, and based on your investments towards Singapore’s economy, the government will decide on your eligibility for citizenship.

Singapore Citizenship by Marriage

Another way of obtaining Singapore citizenship for Indians is to marry someone with the citizenship.

Eligibility Criteria for Citizenship by Marriage

You must be married to a spouse of Singapore nationality or citizenship

Have a PR for a minimum of 2 years

Have been married for at least 2 years

Should be above 21 years of age at the time of application

Have a valid marriage certificate

How to Apply for Singapore Citizenship by Marriage

For Singapore citizenship for a spouse, the applicant’s spouse needs to apply on their behalf. The process includes:

Log into the MyICA profile using the Singpass portal.

Under e-services, click Singapore Citizenship and select “Apply for Singapore Citizenship.”

Choose Singapore Citizenship and click on “Becoming a Singapore Citizen.”

Add all the necessary information for the application form and attach all the required documents.

Complete the payment using the available payment methods and collect the payment receipt.

Provide your Singapore Identity Card Number for spouses, aged parents, or children below 21.
