You can use the official portal or website to find out the exact status of your visa. If the authorities have accepted the application the status will reflect as “approved.” If, for any reason, your application is not accepted, the status will display as “rejected.” In other cases, the status will be “pending.”

However, if you intend to visit Thailand for 15 days, you can get a visa on arrival. In such a scenario, you are not required to apply for a visa or perform Thailand visa tracking. You can obtain a visa after reaching the airport.

Common Reasons for Thailand Visa to Get Rejected

The application process for a Thailand visa is hassle-free. However, due to multiple reasons, the authorities may reject the visa. Knowing the reasons why visa applications get rejected can be helpful.

Inaccurate Information: The application form must be filled out carefully, and you must provide accurate and complete information. If the information is inaccurate or unsatisfactory, the authorities may reject the application.

Lack of Funds: One reason a visa application is rejected is lack of funds. If the applicant fails to show sufficient financial strength to cover the accommodation and other expenses, the visa will be rejected.

Violation of Rules: If the applicant has a history of overstaying the visa previously, the embassy may reject the visa application. If you have failed to leave the country on time previously, the authorities may contemplate you repeating the action, leading to visa rejection.

Invalid Passport: If your passport has expired or is invalid, it can lead to visa refusal. A Thailand visa requires the passport to be valid for a specific number of days or months, depending on the type of visa you apply for. If your passport does not have the required validity, the visa will be rejected.

Criminal Activities: Another reason why your Thailand visa may get rejected is criminal activities. Once you apply for a visa, a background check is conducted to ensure you have a clean record. However, if you have any criminal record, the visa will be rejected.

Failure to Provide Travel Details: If you fail to provide accurate travel details such as onward and return tickets, accommodation, etc., the authorities may consider you to have intentions to overstay the visa, and the visa may be rejected.

What to Do If Your Thailand Visa Application Status Is Rejected?

It may be disappointing if the visa is rejected. However, you can reapply after finding out the exact reason for rejection. Here is what you can do if your visa is rejected:

Step 1: Know the Reason: The first step is to find out the exact reason for the visa rejection. Learn whether the visa was rejected due to an incomplete application form, incomplete details, or any other reason.

Ask For Help: If you need clarification about the process or have any questions regarding the visa, you can get help from the authorities at the embassy or consulate. Be 100% sure about all the processes and requirements.

Rectify the Errors & Reapply: Once you learn the errors that led to rejection, you must rectify them immediately. Carefully review all the information and reapply for a Thailand visa.
