Myanmar Visa and Entry Information

Travellers to Myanmar must obtain a visa before arrival. The most convenient option is the online eVisa, which is available for tourists and business travellers.

  • The Ministry of Immigration and Population launched the eVisa website on September 1, 2014. You can apply for the eVisa through the official Myanmar eVisa website. The eVisa processing time is generally three working days.

  • Applicants need a passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry, a recent passport-size photograph and details of their travel itinerary and accommodation in Myanmar.

  • The eVisa approval letter has a validity of 90 days from the date of issue. Tourist visas allow you a stay of up to 28 days, while business visas can be valid for up to 70 days. Entry points for major eVisa holders are major international airports such as Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw.
